YOUR BIKE
A well-maintained gravel or mountain bike in good condition will do the job. What matters most is that it can handle five days of varied off-road terrain.
- Run tubeless and use slime - double the usual amount on longer days
- Good quality tyres with strong sidewall protection make a significant difference
- Bring a hangar specific to your bike - there are no bike shops on the course
- Pack spare tubes, chain lube, cable ties and a floor pump in your support vehicle
ON THE BIKE
- Padded cycling shorts or knicks
- Cycling gloves and sunglasses
- Camelbak and drink bottles
- Chamois cream
- Sunscreen 30+ minimum and lip balm
- Sun sleeves for cool mornings
OFF THE BIKE
- Warm layers for cool mornings and evenings
- Compression clothing for recovery
- Sandals or thongs for camp
- Towel and toiletries
- Sleeping bag and sleeping mat
- Small tent or swag
FOOD AND ACCOMODATION
You will not go hungry on the Pipeline Challenge. All main meals are provided across the five days including breakfast, lunch and dinner, with plates, cups and cutlery supplied.
Bring your own snacks, energy gels and anything extra you want to keep you going during the day. If you have dietary requirements, note them on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate you.
